## Adiyogi, Shiva as the first yogi

This 24-inch Adiyogi bust reimagines Shiva in his most contemplative form as the first yogi, eyes half-closed in deep meditation, matted jata sweeping back from a calm brow, the crescent moon resting at his crown. Rather than a traditional full figure, it distills the deity to a serene face and shoulders, a composition that speaks as much to lovers of modern sculpture as to lifelong devotees.

Each bust is hand-carved from a single block of black marble and worked to a deep mirror polish, so the stone reads almost like still water: dark, reflective, and quietly dramatic. Our carvers finish the face and shoulders to a flawless high gloss while leaving the plinth roughly chiselled, a deliberate contrast between the raw stone and the meditative form it holds.

## A 24-inch Shiva bust on a console or reception desk

The scale suits a console table, a reception desk, a study, or a dedicated meditation corner. Against a light wall the black marble becomes a striking focal point; in a pooja or dhyana space it anchors the room with a sense of stillness. It makes an equally considered gift for a housewarming, an office opening, or anyone drawn to Shiva as the archetype of inner silence.

In the yogic tradition Adiyogi is honoured as the source of yoga itself, the one who first turned attention inward. Keeping his likeness nearby is a quiet daily reminder to pause and breathe. As with every Tilak Mandirwala piece, dimensions, finish, and stone can be tailored to your space; write to us to commission a size or variation suited to your setting.
