## Hanuman seated in dhyana

This 24-inch Hanuman is carved seated in dhyana, hands folded in his lap and eyes gently closed. It shows the rarely-seen contemplative side of the deity most often shown mid-flight or roaring. It is a study in stillness: the same power, held quiet. The mace (gada) rests at the base of the throne rather than raised, a deliberate reminder that Hanuman's strength is always in service of devotion.

The piece is hand-carved from deep black marble and finished to a mirror polish, so the jet-black stone catches window light in long, clean highlights that trace the contours of the shoulders, the folded legs and the ornate crown. The crown, the layered necklaces and beaded ornaments, the sacred thread across the chest, and the lotus-and-scroll detailing on the plinth are all worked by hand. It is a master sculptor's piece, finely finished yet unmistakably made by human tools.

## How TMW curates this 24-inch Hanuman through Jaipur sculptors

Tilak Mandirwala curates each statue through its network of independent Jaipur master sculptors, matching the right stone and the right hands to the piece. Black marble is chosen here for its density and its capacity to hold one of the deepest polishes in the natural-stone trade, giving the meditating Hanuman a contemporary, almost architectural presence.

At 24 inches it is sized for a meditation corner, a quiet home altar or a pooja room shelf, where its dark, reflective surface reads as calm rather than imposing. It arrives ready to place and makes a considered gift for anyone drawn to Hanuman's discipline, focus and quiet resolve.
