## Murugan on Paravani, wings spread

Lord Murugan (Kartikeya, the warrior son of Shiva and Parvati) rides forth on Paravani, his peacock mount, in this striking 33-inch statue carved from deep, jet-black marble. The peacock's tail is fanned wide into a full prabhavali behind the deity, a radiant halo of stone feathers framing the youthful, crowned face. In his hand rests the Vel, the divine spear granted by his mother, while beneath the peacock's claw a serpent lies subdued. The whole composition is a study in poise, victory and grace.

Hand-carved by master sculptors from our Jaipur network, the piece is finished to a deep mirror polish that lets the dark stone read as pure, uniform black: no veining, no warmth, only clean modernist depth. The soft sheen traces every curve of the fanned feathers, the layered ornamentation, the crown and the coiled serpent, so the detail stays legible even in low gallery light. This is stone worked at the level where devotion meets fine art.

## Thirty-three inches as a statement piece, and commissioning yours

At 33 inches tall, it is a genuine statement piece, sized to anchor a gallery wall, a foyer console, a modern pooja space or a collector's cabinet. Murugan (also known as Skanda, Subramanya and Kartikeya) is especially beloved across the Tamil and South Indian tradition as the god of valour, wisdom and protection, making this a meaningful centrepiece for a devotee's home as much as a bold sculptural object.

Every TMW piece is made to order and quality-checked before it leaves Jaipur. We handle safe crating, delivery and installation guidance so a work of this scale arrives ready to take pride of place. Aapki Kalpna, Hamari Rachna: your imagination, our creation.
