The mood is one of contentment after worship: the elephant-headed remover of obstacles at ease in his own home. His four arms carry the familiar attributes (the raised palm of the abhaya mudra offering reassurance, the lotus, and a brimming bowl of modak, his beloved sweet) while his trunk curls softly toward the offering. At his feet sits the loyal mushak, his mouse companion, carved in the round. The piece is worked in Dholpur Pink Sandstone, a warm blush-pink stone long used to give India's havelis and palaces their rosy glow. Unlike the cool cream of Makrana white marble, this stone reads as a soft, feminine rose-beige with gentle grey-and-rose veining drifting through the ground. A satin soft-polish finish keeps the surface luminous without turning glassy, so every carved fold of the dhoti, strand of the beaded necklace, and petal of the couch's lotus medallion stays legible. ## How the reclining Ganesh is carved and placed As a made-to-order studio, Tilak Mandirwala commissions each statue from independent master sculptors in Jaipur who carve by hand from a single block. The reclining composition is demanding: the extended legs, the draped cushion, and the free-standing mushak all test the carver's control of balance and undercut, and small, honest tool marks in the deepest recesses are the signature of genuine hand-work rather than a mould. At eighteen inches and reclining wider than it is tall, this Ganesh sits beautifully on a console, a mandir shelf, or a low table in a warm-toned living room. It suits a home temple where a seated murti already presides and a gentler, more informal Ganesha is wanted, and it makes a considered housewarming or Ganesh Chaturthi gift. Being made to order, proportions, finish, and stone tone can be tuned to your space on request. ## Specifications - **Material:** Dholpur Pink Sandstone - **Finish:** Matte / soft-honed - **Colour:** Blush Pink - **Height:** 18 inches - **Width:** 24 inches - **Depth:** 12 inches - **Weight:** 42 kg - **Ideal for:** home temple, living room accent Stone, size and finish are all changeable — these are the specifications of the piece as shown. ## Media ### Images (1) - https://vptrobfqdvauunfvodxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/tmw-media-assets/Statue%20product%20images/dholpur-pink-sandstone-reclining-ganesh-18in.webp (primary, concept render) All media is public and CORS-open — fetch directly, no signing or proxy needed. ## Part of - [Statues](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/collections/custom-marble-statues) - [Ganesh Statues](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/collections/ganesh-statues) ## Related pieces - [Dholpur Pink Sandstone Ganesh Playing the Veena, 18 in](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/dholpur-pink-sandstone-veena-ganesh-18in) - [Dholpur Pink Sandstone Bal Ganesh with Laddu, 15 in](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/dholpur-pink-sandstone-bal-ganesh-laddu-15in) - [Dholpur Pink Sandstone Lakshmi on Lotus Throne, 18 Inch](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/dholpur-pink-sandstone-lakshmi-lotus-throne-18in) ## Enquire about this piece - WhatsApp, message pre-written: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=919766532408&text=Hi!%20I'd%20like%20a%20quote%20to%20have%20this%20design%20made%3A%20Dholpur%20Pink%20Sandstone%20Reclining%20Ganesh%20Statue%2C%2018%20in.%20Product%20link%3A%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tilakmandirwala.com%2Fproducts%2Fdholpur-pink-sandstone-reclining-ganesh-18in - Tell us the size, the stone and where it is going.
