## Ganesha in the Sangeet form, playing the veena

This Ganesha is carved in the beloved Sangeet (musical) form: seated cross-legged with a veena cradled across his lap. His two front hands play the instrument mid-raag while the upper pair carry a modak and the ankusha, and his small mushak (mouse) sits attentively at the lotus base. It is Ganesha as the patron of the arts, remover of obstacles and the presiding grace over every note, every recital, and every new beginning.

The piece is hand-carved from Dholpur Pink Sandstone, a warm blush-pink to rose-beige stone with soft grey-rose veining and a fine, even grain. Finished to a soft satin sheen, the surface holds the fine chisel work of the crown, the pierced prabhavali behind the head, and the slender frets of the veena, while the natural warmth of the stone lends the whole form a gentle glow that cool white marble cannot.

## Eighteen inches of Ganesh for a music room, and commissioning yours

At 18 inches it is sized for a home temple, a living-room or music-room accent, or a mandir shelf where it becomes a quiet focal point. It is especially meaningful for families of musicians and students of the arts, and makes a thoughtful housewarming, Griha Pravesh, or wedding gift.

Every TMW piece is made to order by independent master sculptors in Jaipur, so small variations in veining and hand-finish are the signature of genuine hand-carving rather than a mould. Reach out for a quote, a custom size, or a matching finish.
