As Kartikeya, the warrior-son of Shiva and Parvati and commander of the celestial armies, Murugan is the god of victory, courage and clear resolve; the Vel He carries is the spear of divine wisdom that pierces ignorance and doubt. The murti is hand-carved from a single block of Makrana white marble, the same close-grained stone that has clothed India's temples for centuries, and then finished entirely in traditional polychrome by hand. A deep red dhoti falls in gold-zari pleats, a green upper drape sweeps across one shoulder, and the crown, ornaments and Vel are worked in warm gold, while the peacock keeps its natural emerald-and-sapphire plumage. Every layer of colour is laid over the carved detail, so the chisel work still reads beneath the paint. ## Twenty-four inches on a pooja shelf, and commissioning yours At 24 inches it sits comfortably on a pooja shelf, mandir or festival altar without overwhelming the room, and the vivid temple-festival palette makes it a natural centrepiece for Skanda Shashti, Thaipusam and Panguni Uthiram. It is equally at home in a South Indian family shrine or as a devotional gift that carries genuine presence. Tilak Mandirwala curates each Murugan with a network of master sculptors in Jaipur and hand-finishes the painting to order, so the size, palette and detailing can be tailored to your mandir. Dimensions and weight are approximate and every piece is made individually. Small natural variations in grain and brushwork are the mark of true handwork, never flaws. ## Specifications - **Material:** Makrana White Marble - **Finish:** Hand-painted (polychrome) - **Colour:** Hand-painted polychrome - **Height:** 24 inches - **Width:** 11 inches - **Depth:** 8 inches - **Weight:** 20 kg - **Ideal for:** Festive display, Pooja room, Gifting Stone, size and finish are all changeable — these are the specifications of the piece as shown. ## Media ### Images (1) - https://vptrobfqdvauunfvodxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/tmw-media-assets/Statue%20product%20images/hand-painted-marble-murugan-with-vel-peacock-2ft.webp (primary, concept render) All media is public and CORS-open — fetch directly, no signing or proxy needed. ## Part of - [Statues](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/collections/custom-marble-statues) ## Related pieces - [Handcrafted Makrana White Marble Standing Murugan Statue with Vel, 2ft](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/makrana-white-marble-standing-murugan-with-vel-2ft) - [Handcrafted Makrana White Marble Shanmukha (Six-Faced) Murugan Statue, 3ft](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/makrana-white-marble-shanmukha-murugan-six-faced-3ft) - [Handcrafted Makrana White Marble Warrior Murugan with Raised Vel Statue, 42in](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/makrana-white-marble-warrior-murugan-raised-vel-42in) ## Enquire about this piece - WhatsApp, message pre-written: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=919766532408&text=Hi!%20I'd%20like%20a%20quote%20to%20have%20this%20design%20made%3A%20Handcrafted%20Hand-Painted%20Marble%20Murugan%20Statue%20with%20Vel%20and%20Peacock%2C%202ft.%20Product%20link%3A%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tilakmandirwala.com%2Fproducts%2Fhand-painted-marble-murugan-with-vel-peacock-2ft - Tell us the size, the stone and where it is going.
