This 14-inch murti holds him at his most endearing: a chubby, bright-eyed toddler standing tall with the tiny Vel in his hand, his face carrying that unmistakable mix of childlike playfulness and quiet divine calm. It is a form devotees find impossible not to smile at: the fierce commander of the celestial armies rendered as the little one every Tamil household adores. Each piece is hand-carved from Sagyin white marble, quarried in the Sagyin Hills near Mandalay and prized for its soft, milky-white body and fine crystalline grain. Our master sculptors work the stone in the round, finishing it to a gentle satin (soft) polish that lets the marble's natural translucency glow softly at the edges while keeping every carved detail crisp, from the beaded jewellery and the pleated dhoti to the crown and the leaf-bladed Vel. ## Keeping the Vel and the iconography faithful The iconography is kept faithful throughout. The Vel, Murugan's divine spear and the emblem of the wisdom that pierces ignorance, is carried in his right hand, while the left rests easily at his waist. A small kirita crown, ear ornaments, a beaded necklace and waistband, and the tilak on his brow complete the child form, and the figure stands on a carved lotus pedestal, raised and whole. At 14 inches, this is a true tabletop murti, sized for a home altar, a pooja shelf, or an office niche, and light enough to place where the family gathers. Its warm, gift-worthy character makes it a natural choice for a housewarming, a naming ceremony, or Skanda Shashti, and for anyone who wants Murugan's blessings in their most tender, approachable form. As with every Tilak Mandirwala piece, this murti is made to order by our network of independent master sculptors, quality-checked, and carefully packed for safe delivery to your door. ## Specifications - **Material:** Sagyin White Marble - **Finish:** Soft polish (satin) - **Colour:** Warm White - **Height:** 14 inches - **Width:** 6 inches - **Depth:** 5 inches - **Weight:** 9 kg - **Ideal for:** Tabletop, Gifting, Home altar Stone, size and finish are all changeable — these are the specifications of the piece as shown. ## Media ### Images (1) - https://vptrobfqdvauunfvodxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/tmw-media-assets/Statue%20product%20images/sagyin-white-marble-bala-murugan-child-14in.webp (primary, concept render) All media is public and CORS-open — fetch directly, no signing or proxy needed. ## Part of - [Statues](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/collections/custom-marble-statues) ## Related pieces - [Handcrafted Sagyin White Marble Thiruchendur Subramanya Statue with Vel, 30in](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/sagyin-white-marble-thiruchendur-subramanya-vel-30in) - [Handcrafted Vietnam White Marble Murugan with Valli and Deivanai Statue, 2ft](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/vietnam-white-marble-murugan-valli-deivanai-2ft) - [Handcrafted Hand-Painted Marble Murugan Statue with Vel and Peacock, 2ft](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/hand-painted-marble-murugan-with-vel-peacock-2ft) ## Enquire about this piece - WhatsApp, message pre-written: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=919766532408&text=Hi!%20I'd%20like%20a%20quote%20to%20have%20this%20design%20made%3A%20Handcrafted%20Sagyin%20White%20Marble%20Bala%20Murugan%20(Child)%20Statue%2C%2014in.%20Product%20link%3A%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tilakmandirwala.com%2Fproducts%2Fsagyin-white-marble-bala-murugan-child-14in - Tell us the size, the stone and where it is going.
