## Dagdusheth Ganpati with his modak bowl and mushak

Modelled on the beloved Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati of Pune, one of Maharashtra's most cherished forms of the elephant-headed lord, this murti brings that festival grandeur into the quiet of a home shrine. Ganesha sits in an easy sukhasana, his broad frame draped in finely beaded ornaments, a tall carved mukut rising above his gentle, benevolent gaze.

Each piece is hand-carved from Vietnam White Marble, a bright, cool-toned stone prized for its clean milky-white surface and fine crystalline grain. A master sculptor works the block by hand, coaxing out the layered folds of the dhoti, the strands of the beaded haar, and the delicate filigree of the crown, then finishing the marble to a soft satin polish that catches light without glare.

## What each of Ganpati's four hands carries

The lower right hand cradles a heaped bowl of modaks (Ganpati's favourite offering) while the upper arms hold his attributes aloft. At his feet the mushak sits alert, gazing up at his lord in devotion, every whisker and the tiny bells of its harness picked out in relief. At eighteen inches the statue reads with real presence yet sits comfortably on a mandir platform.

Made to order, this Dagdusheth Ganpati suits a home temple, a pooja room, or a devotee's daily worship. As a curator working with independent master carvers in Jaipur, we finish each murti individually, so small natural variations in grain and veining are part of its handmade character.
