The boy stands in decorated royal attire with a small crown, necklaces and armlets, a lotus resting in one hand and the vertical U-shaped tilak with a round chandlo marked on the forehead, the Swaminarayan Sampradaya's identifying Vaishnav sign. Ghanshyam is shown youthful and serene, the child before he took the name Sahajanand Swami.
