## Mahalakshmi seated in padmasana

This seated Lakshmi is carved in the classic Mahalakshmi form: four arms, the upper two raising fully open lotus blooms, the lower right hand turned outward in varada mudra to bestow blessings, and the lower left cradling an overflowing kalash, the vessel of abundance. She rests in serene padmasana upon a broad, full-bloom lotus, its petals fanning out beneath her in crisp, deep relief.

The statue is hand-carved in Vietnam White Marble, a bright, fine-grained stone with a clean, cool undertone that reads as a true porcelain white rather than the warm cream of Makrana. Its compact crystalline grain holds fine detail beautifully; you can see it in the layered crown, the beaded necklaces, and the pleating of her sari. Finished to a soft satin polish, the surface glows gently under diya light without the glare of a mirror shine.

## Made to order through TMW's sculptor network, at 18 inches

Every piece in this range is made to order through Tilak Mandirwala's network of independent master sculptors in Jaipur, the heart of India's marble-carving tradition. The carving is done entirely by hand, so each Lakshmi carries the subtle, living asymmetry of a hand-tooled work. No two are ever mechanically identical.

At 18 inches tall, this Lakshmi is sized for a home mandir, pooja room, or a dedicated altar for daily worship. She is especially fitting as the presiding deity for Diwali and Lakshmi Puja, when the goddess of wealth and well-being is invited into the home. Dimensions and finish can be tailored on request.
