# Handcrafted Vietnam White Marble Seated Murugan with Peacock Statue, 22in > Cool-white Vietnam marble Murugan seated at ease, peacock beside him and hand raised in blessing, for a 22-inch intimate darshan at the home altar. **Source:** https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/vietnam-white-marble-seated-murugan-peacock-blessing-22in **Business:** Tilak Mandirwala — made-to-order marble temples (mandirs), statues and decorative handicrafts. Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Founded 2006. **How it works:** Each piece is carved to order by the independent master sculptors TMW works with in Jaipur's Khajane Walon Ka Rasta sculptors' market. TMW designs the piece with the customer, briefs the sculptor, and follows it through to delivery and installation. **Pricing:** request-for-quote — pieces are custom, so the site carries no list prices. **Ships:** across India; export enquiries welcome. **About the image:** a design visualisation, not a photograph of stock on hand. The piece is carved to order after the design is agreed. **Availability:** made to order. ## A quieter Murugan, seated rather than striding There is a quieter way to bring Murugan home. Instead of the striding warrior astride his peacock, this piece imagines the young commander of the gods seated at ease in maharajalilasana, one knee drawn up, the other foot resting on the lotus base, with his peacock standing calmly at his side rather than in flight. The right hand rises in abhaya, the gesture of blessing and fearlessness, while the Vel, his flame-tipped spear, leans against his shoulder. It is Murugan in a moment of stillness: approachable, benevolent, close. The statue is hand-carved from Vietnam White Marble, a bright, fine-grained stone with a cool, clean undertone that reads a shade whiter and calmer than warmer Indian marbles. Finished to a soft satin polish, the surface holds a gentle glow rather than a hard mirror shine, so light settles into the carved jewellery, the layered flower garlands and the feather-work of the peacock instead of glaring off them. At 22 inches, it is sized for an altar or a niche rather than a temple hall. ## Every devotional marker, from kirita to Vel Every devotional marker is here: the single youthful face crowned with an ornate kirita, the sacred tilak, the beaded and floral garlands falling to the waist, the Vel that slew Surapadma, and the peacock Paravani, his faithful vahana. The lotus pedestal lifts the 22-inch murti to eye level, as tradition asks, and the folds of the dhoti and the incised borders reward a close look. Murugan (Kartikeya, Skanda, Subramanya) is the ever-youthful god of valour, wisdom and victory, beloved across Tamil homes and the wider South Indian and diaspora tradition. Seated and blessing, this form suits daily darshan: a home altar, a pooja room, or a thoughtful gift for a devotee marking a housewarming, a milestone or Thaipusam. As a made-to-order piece, it can be commissioned in other sizes and stones on request. ## Specifications - **Material:** Vietnam White Marble - **Finish:** Soft polish (satin) - **Colour:** Cool White - **Height:** 22 inches - **Width:** 13 inches - **Depth:** 10 inches - **Weight:** 35 kg - **Ideal for:** Home altar, Pooja room, Gifting Stone, size and finish are all changeable — these are the specifications of the piece as shown. ## Media ### Images (1) - https://vptrobfqdvauunfvodxw.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/tmw-media-assets/Statue%20product%20images/vietnam-white-marble-seated-murugan-peacock-blessing-22in.webp (primary, concept render) All media is public and CORS-open — fetch directly, no signing or proxy needed. ## Part of - [Statues](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/collections/custom-marble-statues) ## Related pieces - [Handcrafted Vietnam White Marble Murugan on Peacock (Mayil Vahana) Statue, 30in](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/vietnam-white-marble-murugan-on-peacock-mayil-30in) - [Handcrafted Vietnam White Marble Murugan with Valli and Deivanai Statue, 2ft](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/vietnam-white-marble-murugan-valli-deivanai-2ft) - [Handcrafted Hand-Painted Marble Murugan Statue with Vel and Peacock, 2ft](https://www.tilakmandirwala.com/products/hand-painted-marble-murugan-with-vel-peacock-2ft) ## Enquire about this piece - WhatsApp, message pre-written: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=919766532408&text=Hi!%20I'd%20like%20a%20quote%20to%20have%20this%20design%20made%3A%20Handcrafted%20Vietnam%20White%20Marble%20Seated%20Murugan%20with%20Peacock%20Statue%2C%2022in.%20Product%20link%3A%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tilakmandirwala.com%2Fproducts%2Fvietnam-white-marble-seated-murugan-peacock-blessing-22in - Tell us the size, the stone and where it is going.
