About This Piece
Bhagwan Swaminarayan in his Harikrishna Maharaj form — the enthroned royal darshan revered across the Swaminarayan Sampradaya. Seated in dignified, upright poise on an ornate singhasan throne, robed and adorned with a jewelled crown and the sacred tilak-chandlo, his right hand rises in the gesture of blessing (abhaya). It is a murti made for darshan: composed, serene and unmistakably regal, presiding over the sanctum the way a king presides over his court. The piece is hand-carved from Makrana White Marble (Albeta) — the same dense, fine-grained stone that has clad India's most revered shrines for centuries. Its bright, neutral-white body carries only the faintest warmth, so the folds of the royal robe, the layered malas and the crown's filigree read crisply under lamplight. A soft satin polish keeps the surface luminous without the harsh glare of a mirror finish, letting the translucent calcite glow gently at the thinner edges. Much of the artistry lives in the throne itself. The singhasan is carved as one continuous composition with the figure — a foliate prabhavali arching behind the crown, scrolling toran work along the backrest, and a stepped pedestal base that raises the murti to a proper darshan height. The draped dhoti and uttariya fall in deep, hand-finished pleats, and the jewellery is picked out bead by bead, the mark of a master sculptor rather than a mould. At 36 inches (3 feet), the murti is scaled to anchor a temple sanctum, a haveli mandir, or an institutional shrine — large enough to command a room, yet proportioned for a dedicated pooja space. It suits a permanent installation where the deity is bathed, dressed and offered daily aarti, and its elevated throne makes it read correctly from a devotee's seated or standing vantage. Tilak Mandirwala curates each Swaminarayan murti as a made-to-order commission through our network of independent master sculptors in the Jaipur marble tradition. Stone selection, iconographic accuracy, finishing and safe delivery are managed end to end, so the murti that reaches your mandir is faithful to the Sampradaya's darshan and built to be revered for generations.
