Frequently asked questions

Get answers to common questions about our custom sculptures

What is a Lalbaugcha Raja murti?

It is a marble idol carved in the form of Mumbai's Lalbaugcha Raja - the Lalbaug Ganpati revered as *Navasacha Ganpati*, the fulfiller of wishes. The defining iconography is a seated, four-armed Ganesh on a lion-flanked simhasan throne, wearing a tall ornate mukut with heavy jewelled ornaments, a modak in hand and the right hand raised in blessing, with the mushak at the base. We recreate this exact form made-to-order.

How is this different from a Dagdusheth Ganpati?

Both are famous Maharashtrian pandal forms, but the iconography differs. Lalbaugcha Raja is defined by the lion-flanked throne and his distinctive regal, alert bearing. Dagdusheth Ganpati (Pune) is typically shown on a lotus pedestal or jewelled singhasan with its own crown style. We carve both - see our [Dagdusheth Ganpati collection](/collections/dagdusheth-ganpati-statues).

Can I get the gold-leaf or the painted pandal look?

Yes - three finishes. Natural marble (the stone left to speak for itself), 22k gold-leaf on the mukut and ornaments, or full traditional polychrome temple paint with the saffron-orange dhoti seen in the Lalbaug mandap. Share your preference on WhatsApp and we'll quote each option.

Which marble and sizes can I choose?

Makrana white, Vietnam white, Sagyin (Burmese) white, or black marble, from a 9-inch desk murti to a 5-foot mandir installation. Most home murtis land between 12 and 24 inches.

How long does a custom Lalbaugcha Raja take?

Typically 6-10 weeks depending on size, gold-leaf and detailing - so order well ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi. We share progress photos at each milestone and ship worldwide.
