Buddha mudras and poses

The hand gesture is what your customer checks first. We confirm the mudra, the posture and the proportions with you before carving begins. See Buddha mudra statues

Dhyana mudra

Meditation

Both hands rest in the lap, one on the other. The classic seated meditating Buddha.

Bhumisparsha mudra

Touching the earth

The right hand reaches down to touch the ground: the moment of enlightenment.

Dharmachakra mudra

Teaching

Both hands at the chest, forming the turning of the wheel of the Dharma.

Abhaya mudra

Fearlessness

The right hand raised, palm outward. Common on standing Buddhas.

Varada mudra

Giving

The hand lowered, palm outward, offering compassion and blessing.

Reclining

Parinirvana

The Buddha lying on his right side, head resting on his hand.

How a Buddha order from Jaipur works

Pick a Buddha that is already finished, or commission one and follow it from design to dispatch. Both end the same way: one confirmed total, export crating, and delivery to you.

  1. Tell us what you need

The pose or mudra, the size, the stone and how many, or a photo of a Buddha you already sell.

  2. A ready piece, or a commission

If a finished Buddha fits, we ask the sculptors we work with and send photographs of the exact piece. If not, we finalise the design with you and confirm the size and stone with the sculptor before carving starts.

  3. One total, confirmed

We check the shipping with our shipping partner for your city and send one total, in your currency, before you commit.

  4. See it, then it ships

You see your actual statue in photographs and video before it is packed. Then it is crated and shipped to your door.

A ready piece: no carving wait. It typically reaches you in about two weeks door to door by air: about a week to pack and dispatch, about a week in transit, depending on where you are.

A commission: carving usually takes 4 to 6 weeks, and a simpler piece can be quicker. Packing and shipping come on top, typically about two weeks by air.

Marble and stone for Buddha statues

Four natural stones cover almost every Buddha we send abroad. Whether a particular design works in a particular stone and size is confirmed with the sculptor before we quote.

Vietnam white marble

A cool, bright white marble, carved in Jaipur. Often chosen for Buddha statues and contemporary spaces.

Makrana white marble

The warm white marble of Rajasthan, with a soft glow. A classic choice for a meditating Buddha.

Black stone

Deep black, polished or matte. A striking Buddha for a lobby, a spa or a modern interior.

Pink stone

Warm pink stone for garden Buddhas and pieces that sit outdoors.

Shipping your Buddha, and one clear total cost

Once you choose a ready piece or commission one, we check with our shipping partner and tell you the shipping charges in advance. You receive one total, in your currency, covering the statue, export packing and delivery, so you know the full cost before you pay anything.

We ship to any country with a port, including the United States, Canada, the UK and Europe, Singapore, Japan, Dubai and the Middle East, and Australia.

DDP

Delivered Duty Paid

Delivered to your door with import duty and customs clearance included in the total we quote. Nothing to pay on arrival.

DAP

Delivered at Place

Delivered to your door, and you pay the import duty to your own customs on arrival. Useful if you already import and clear goods yourself.

Air · Sea · Courier

Chosen per piece

The mode is decided for each shipment by size, weight and destination. Small pieces travel by DHL or FedEx courier.

Export packing

Each statue travels in a heat-treated wooden export crate carrying the ISPM-15 mark, braced and padded for a heavy stone piece. The commercial invoice, packing list and crate treatment certificate go with the shipment.

Payment

An advance to begin, photo and video updates while the piece is made, and the balance at the end when it ships. The amounts are agreed with you for each order.

Questions from Buddha statue buyers abroad

Do you export marble Buddha statues to the USA, UK, Europe and Australia?

Yes. We ship to any country with a port: the United States, Canada, the UK and Europe, Singapore, Japan, Dubai and the Middle East, and Australia. For anywhere else, we confirm the route with our shipping partner when we quote.

Which Buddha poses and mudras can you supply?

Seated meditating Buddhas in dhyana mudra, the earth-touching bhumisparsha mudra, the teaching dharmachakra mudra, standing Buddhas in abhaya and varada mudra, reclining Buddhas, garden Buddhas and laughing Buddhas. If you need a mudra or a style that is not shown, send a reference and we finalise the design with you.

Can you make a Buddha to match a design we already sell?

Yes. Send photographs or a drawing of the piece with its size. We finalise the design with you, and the sculptor confirms that it works at that size and in that stone before any carving begins.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No. A single Buddha is a normal order. Importers and retailers who reorder follow the same process each time: choose or commission, receive one confirmed total, then we ship.

How long does it take to receive a Buddha statue?

A commissioned Buddha usually takes 4 to 6 weeks to carve, and a simpler piece can be quicker. If you have a date to meet, tell us: a piece may already be carved, and we will ask the sculptors we work with and send you photographs of it. A ready piece typically reaches you in about two weeks door to door by air, depending on where you are. Sea freight is slower, and the exact time comes with the quote.

What sizes can a marble Buddha be made in?

Most designs can be carved from about 1 ft up to 5 or 6 ft. Whether a particular design works at a particular size and in a particular stone is confirmed with the sculptor before we quote.

How is shipping charged, and do you ship DDP?

Once you choose a piece, we check with our shipping partner and send you one total covering the statue, export packing and delivery. Under DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) import duty and customs clearance are included, so nothing is due on arrival. Under DAP (Delivered at Place) you pay the duty to your customs. We agree which one with you, per shipment.

How is a marble Buddha packed for international shipping?

In a heat-treated wooden export crate carrying the ISPM-15 mark, braced and padded for a heavy stone piece. The shipment travels with the commercial invoice, packing list and the crate treatment certificate.

Tell us which Buddha you are looking for

Send the pose or mudra, a size and a reference photo, or ask for photographs of ready pieces. We reply with options and, once you choose, one confirmed total.
