About This Piece
This 36-inch statue captures Hanuman in one of his most dramatic and beloved forms — airborne, mace held high, bearing the entire Sanjeevani mountain in his open palm. It is the moment from the Ramayana when the devoted Vanara flies across the night sky to fetch the life-restoring herb for the fallen Lakshman, and rather than search the slopes he simply lifts the whole peak and carries it home. Carved clouds swirl beneath his feet, his tail arcs upward behind the raised gada, and his dhoti and sash stream with the speed of flight, giving the whole piece a sense of motion frozen in solid stone. The statue is hand-carved from a single block of deep jet-black marble and finished to a mirror polish, so light travels along every curve of the muscular body, the beaded ornaments, and the crown. The dense, fine-grained stone reads as contemporary luxury — clean, modern, and unmistakably premium against a light wall. Every detail, from the tiny trees and boulders on the Sanjeevani peak to the folds of the sash, is worked by hand by our network of master sculptors, and the barely-perceptible variation between the two sides is the honest signature of stone shaped by human hands rather than a mould. Hanuman is the guardian of strength, courage, and unwavering devotion, and the flying-with-Sanjeevani form in particular is invoked by devotees as Sankat Mochan — the remover of troubles. A murti of this form is traditionally kept for protection of the home and family, and its heroic, forward-leaning composition makes it as much a talisman of resolve as an object of worship. Mounted on a solid rectangular plinth, the piece anchors a console table, an entryway, or a living-room feature wall with real presence, and its jet-black finish suits a modern interior far better than a conventional white idol. Made to order in the size and stone of your choice, it is finished, packed, and delivered by Tilak Mandirwala from Jaipur.
