About This Piece
This handcrafted pair unites Tirupati Balaji — Lord Venkateswara, the presiding deity of the Tirumala hills — with his consort goddess Padmavati, carved in deep jet-black marble and finished to a luminous mirror polish. The Lord stands in the upright *sthanaka* posture with four arms: the Sudarshana chakra and Panchajanya shankha raised above, the lower-right hand opened in *varada* toward his feet, and the lower-left hand resting at his hip in the *katyavalambita* gesture that quietly promises refuge to every devotee who stands before him. Every emblem of Venkateswara is faithfully rendered — the tall conical *kiritamukuta* crown, the layered temple jewellery across the chest and arms, and the unmistakable white U-shaped *tirunamam* drawn across the forehead. Beside him, Padmavati stands in a gracefully draped sari with tiered necklaces, an ornamented waistband and her own crown, one hand raised in blessing. Both murtis share a single carved lotus pedestal, so the pair reads as one composed, temple-like installation. The jet-black stone, polished to a deep reflective sheen, lends the pair a quiet, contemporary gravity — the mirror surface catches the glow of pooja lamps and throws it back in long, soft highlights along the drapery and crowns. At 30 inches it makes a commanding yet home-scaled centrepiece for a pooja room, home altar or mandir niche, and is equally at home as a Kalyana-themed wedding gift for a devout couple. Tilak Mandirwala curates each Balaji-Padmavati pair as a made-to-order commission through our network of independent master sculptors in Jaipur, so proportions, finish and pedestal can be tailored to your shrine. We handle careful crating, insured delivery and installation guidance across India and abroad. Share your imagination and we will bring it to form — *Aapki Kalpna, Hamari Rachna*.
