About This Piece
Carved in luminous Makrana white marble, this three-foot murti portrays Tirupati Balaji — Lord Venkateswara, the presiding deity of the Tirumala hills and one of the most beloved forms of Vishnu across South India and the diaspora. He stands in the upright sthanaka posture on a stepped pedestal, calm and commanding, exactly as devotees know the moolavar in the sanctum. The iconography is rendered with devotional care. Four arms carry the deity's signatures: the Sudarshana chakra raised in the upper-right hand and the Panchajanya shankha in the upper-left, while the lower-right hand opens downward in the varada mudra that points to his feet as the refuge of the devotee, and the lower-left rests on the hip in the katyavalambita pose. A tall conical kiritamukuta crowns his head, a prominent white U-shaped tirunamam marks the forehead, Goddess Lakshmi is carved upon his chest, and layered flower garlands fall across the torso. The stone is hand-carved by master sculptors from our Jaipur network and finished to a soft satin polish that keeps the marble bright and natural rather than glassy — so the crisp detailing of the crown, garlands and mudras reads clearly under lamp light. Fine chisel work and gentle hand-tooled transitions give the surface the honest character of a piece made by hand. At three feet, the statue makes a serene centrepiece for a pooja room or home altar, and a meaningful gift for family abroad who carry the Tirumala tradition with them. Every piece is made to order and curated for quality, from carving to careful delivery and installation.
