About This Piece
A 12-inch Balaji cast in marble dust
This 12-inch Tirupati Balaji is cast in fine marble-dust composite — crushed white marble bound and hardened into a smooth, luminous form — then hand-finished to a soft satin sheen. At tabletop scale it captures the standing moolavar of Tirumala with crisp, faithful detailing, making the Lord of the Seven Hills easy to welcome into an everyday home altar.
The murti follows the canonical sthanaka (standing) posture of Sri Venkateswara. Four arms carry the sacred emblems of Vishnu — the Sudarshana chakra raised in the upper right, the Panchajanya shankha in the upper left, the lower-right hand open in varada mudra pointing toward the feet, and the lower-left resting on the hip in katyavalambita. A tall conical kiritamukuta crowns the head, and the bright white U-shaped tirunamam on the forehead unmistakably marks him as Balaji.
Why marble-dust composite costs less, and commissioning yours
Marble-dust composite is a budget-friendly alternative to solid quarried marble: it holds fine cast detail — the layered flower garlands, ornate waist belt, pleated dhoti, and lotus pedestal — at a fraction of the weight and cost. The cast-white surface reads bright and calm under a diya's glow, and the satin polish keeps the finish soft rather than glassy.
Sized for an apartment pooja shelf or a compact wooden mandir, this Balaji suits daily worship, Saturday abhishekam at home, and gifting for housewarmings or Venkateswara vratam. Set on its lotus pedestal beside a brass diya and fresh tulsi, the Lord of Tirumala presides gently over your family's prayers.
