Seated at ease upon a carved singhasan, he balances a palm-leaf manuscript across one hand while his stylus rests mid-stroke — the very posture in which he is said to have transcribed the Mahabharata as the sage Vyasa dictated it. His remaining hands hold a modak and the ankusha, and his faithful mushak looks up attentively from the base. It is hand-carved from Makrana white marble, the same luminous Rajasthani stone chosen for centuries of temple sculpture.
