Hand-carved from a single block of Makrana white marble, the same legendary Rajasthani stone that clads the Taj Mahal and Vrindavan's grand temples, this 3-foot statue brings the serene, playful presence of the Vrindavan Krishna into your home. Every detail is worked by hand: the peacock-feather crown (mukut), the layered vaijayanti garland falling to the knees, the fine pleats of the dhoti, and the anklets and armlets that mark him as the divine cowherd of Braj. The one leg crossed lightly over the other, the gentle half-smile, and the flute held in both hands together evoke the moment his music drew the gopis and the whole of nature to stillness. Makrana marble is prized for its cool, luminous natural white and its remarkable density — it takes fine detail beautifully and mellows with age rather than yellowing.
