Neelkanth — "the blue-throated one" — is among the most beloved forms of Lord Shiva. When the devas and asuras churned the cosmic ocean during the Samudra Manthan, the deadly halahala poison rose first, threatening to consume all creation. Shiva drank it to save the world, and Parvati pressed his throat so the poison could go no further — staining it a deep blue and giving him this name. This 24-inch statue captures that moment of supreme compassion: Shiva seated in calm meditation, the halahala cradled in his hands, utterly unshaken. The piece is hand-carved from Makrana white marble, the same Rajasthani stone that clads the Taj Mahal and the Dilwara temples. Its brilliant neutral white carries a slightly warm cream undertone that glows under a diya's light, while the fine calcite grain lets the carver render the matted jata, the crescent moon, the rudraksha strands and the coiled serpent in crisp detail.
