Handcrafted Makrana White Marble Meditating Shiva on Kailash, 24in

Carved from a single block of Makrana white marble, this 24-inch Shiva is caught in the stillness of deep dhyana — eyes softly closed, breath held in samadhi, seated cross-legged in padmasana on a rough-hewn Mount Kailash. It is the Mahadev of the meditators: not the fierce Nataraja of the cosmic dance, but Adi Yogi at rest, the source from which all yoga flows. Every emblem of Shiva is present and hand-finished. A slender crescent moon rests in his matted jata, from which a fine carved strand of the Ganga descends. Vasuki, the serpent, coils calm around his throat; strands of rudraksha beads fall across his chest and wind about his wrists. The trishul stands at his side, and the tripundra — three horizontal lines — marks his brow above a closed third eye. The tiger-skin drape and the craggy Kailash base are cut from the same white stone, so the whole murti reads as one unbroken piece. Makrana marble is the same prized North Indian stone used for centuries in India's finest temples and monuments — dense, cool, and naturally bright white, ageing gracefully without yellowing. The artisans finish it with a soft matte hand-polish that keeps the surface luminous rather than glassy, letting the subtle stone grain show through and reading as living rock rather than cast resin. At 24 inches it is sized as a true focal murti — commanding on a pooja-room altar, grounding in a meditation corner, or serene as a living-room centrepiece. The meditative posture invites the same stillness in the room around it, making it as much a daily reminder to sit and breathe as an object of worship.
