About This Piece

Rajlakshmi at temple scale, in Makrana marble

This temple-scale Rajlakshmi is hand-carved from a single block of Makrana white marble — the same prized Rajasthani stone that clads the Taj Mahal. Standing 48 inches (4 feet) tall, the four-armed Mahalakshmi is seated in regal ease, the Rajlakshmi form, upon an ornate lotus throne with a tall arched, fully carved backrest.

Every attribute of the goddess of wealth is rendered in crisp relief: lotus blooms rise from her upper hands, her lower right hand opens in the varada mudra of blessing, and her lower left cradles a brimming kalash from which a strand of coins cascades onto the lotus pedestal. Layered necklaces, carved bangles, and an elaborate mukut crown frame a serene, benevolent face.

A satin polish on four feet of Makrana, and commissioning yours

Finished to a soft satin polish, the Makrana marble reads a bright, luminous natural white, with the fine crystalline grain and gentle subsurface glow that only genuine calcite stone gives. The carving is entirely by hand — the work of master sculptors from Tilak Mandirwala's Jaipur network — with every chisel transition, coin bead, and petal edge worked individually.

At four feet and temple weight, this Rajlakshmi is made for a temple sanctum, community mandir, or a large home pooja room where a commanding murti anchors Lakshmi puja and Diwali worship. As a made-to-order piece, its dimensions, finish, and detailing can be tailored to your sthan.

Tilak Mandirwala curates and delivers made-to-order marble murtis in partnership with independent master sculptors — Aapki Kalpna, Hamari Rachna (Your Imagination, Our Creation).
