About This Piece

Mahalakshmi standing on a full lotus

Mahalakshmi stands serene upon a fully bloomed lotus, her four arms holding the promise of abundance — a form devotees have turned to for generations when inviting prosperity, grace, and well-being into the home. This 24-inch murti captures her in the classic standing posture, poised and gentle, ready to preside over your family shrine.

Hand-carved from a single block of Makrana white marble — the legendary Rajasthani stone prized for centuries for its bright, even, luminous white — the piece carries a soft satin polish that lets light settle into every fold of the sari and every petal of the lotus. Fine grey hairline veining, natural to genuine Makrana, runs subtly through the surface: the quiet signature of authentic stone rather than a resin or marble-dust composite.

What each of Lakshmi's four hands holds

In her upper two hands she raises blooming lotuses; her lower right hand is lifted in abhaya mudra, the gesture of protection and reassurance, while her lower left opens downward in varada mudra, the bestowing of boons. A carved crown, layered necklaces, and a long garland frame the goddess, and she rises from a tiered lotus pedestal that keeps her elevated and honoured.

At 24 inches she is substantial enough to anchor a home mandir yet gracefully proportioned for a pooja room, an entryway niche, or a Diwali altar. Each piece is made to order by our network of master marble sculptors, so the small, beautiful variations in the hand-work are part of what makes your Mahalakshmi one of a kind.
