About This Piece

Gaja Lakshmi is the bestower of abundance — the four-armed goddess seated on a full-bloom lotus while two elephants raise their trunks in abhisheka, ceremonially bathing her with the waters of prosperity. This 30-inch murti captures that timeless Shri iconography with quiet, temple-grade dignity: the Devi in serene repose, her upper hands holding lotus blossoms, her lower hands offering abhaya (fearlessness) and varada (boon-granting), flanked by the twin gaja who symbolise royal power and life-giving rain. Every element is hand-carved by the master sculptors in Tilak Mandirwala's Jaipur network. Look closely and the craftsmanship shows: the tiered lotus throne with individually undercut petals, the beaded haar and layered jewellery, the crowned prabhavali halo behind the Devi, and the caparisoned elephants standing on their own lotus plinths. The composition is symmetrical and balanced, engineered to read beautifully both up close in a home shrine and from across a pooja room. The piece is carved from a single block of Makrana white marble — the same legendary Rajasthani stone used in India's finest temples — prized for its bright, luminous white tone, fine crystalline grain, and remarkable durability. Finished to a soft satin polish, the surface glows gently rather than glaring, letting the carved detail and the natural translucency of the calcite stone come through. At 30 inches tall the statue is a commanding centrepiece for a home mandir, entryway console, or drawing-room altar, and is an especially auspicious choice for Diwali, Lakshmi Puja, Griha Pravesh, and housewarming. Gaja Lakshmi is traditionally installed to invite wealth, harmony, and steady good fortune into the home. As a made-to-order studio, Tilak Mandirwala curates and commissions each piece with independent master carvers, oversees the quality, and handles safe crating, delivery, and installation — so the murti reaches you exactly as intended. Custom sizes, stone selections, and finishes can be arranged on request.
