About This Piece

This handcrafted statue depicts Tirupati Balaji — Sri Venkateswara, the presiding form of Lord Vishnu worshipped at the Tirumala hills. He stands in the upright sthanaka posture with four arms: the upper right holds the Sudarshana chakra and the upper left the Panchajanya conch, while the lower right hand rests in varada mudra pointing toward his feet — the gesture that invites the devotee to take refuge — and the lower left rests gently on the hip in katyavalambita. A tall conical kiritamukuta crown and the prominent white U-shaped tirunamam on the forehead mark him unmistakably as the Lord of the Seven Hills. The murti is framed within an ornate prabhavali arch (thoranam), its columns and foliate scrollwork carved from the same block and crowned by a kirtimukha at the apex. The whole composition rises from an integrated lotus pedestal flanked by guardian lions, giving the piece the presence of a temple sanctum in miniature. It is carved in Sagyin White Marble — the canonical Burmese statuary stone quarried in the Sagyin Hills near Mandalay. Milky white with a cool bluish undertone and a fine, softly translucent grain, Sagyin marble carries light gently through its edges and takes crisp detail in ornament and drapery. Occasional faint cloudy zones are a prized feature of the stone, not a flaw. The surface is given a soft satin polish that keeps the carving legible while letting the stone glow. Every piece is made to order through our network of master sculptors in Jaipur, hand-carved rather than moulded, so no two are ever identical. Dimensions, stone, and finish can be adjusted to suit your shrine. At roughly 30 inches tall, it sits comfortably as the centrepiece of a home pooja room, a devotional gift, or a temple donation. Placed in a niche with a lamp and tulsi garlands, this Venkateswara becomes a focal point for daily darshan and festive worship — bringing the sanctity of Tirumala into your home.
