Vietnam White Marble Meditating Ganesh on Lotus, 18 in

This 18-inch Ganesh is caught in a rare, still moment — seated in padmasana on a fully opened lotus, eyes gently closed, both lower hands resting in his lap in dhyana mudra. Where most Ganesh murtis show him blessing, dancing, or feasting, this one simply meditates, and that quietness is exactly what makes it belong in a space set aside for stillness. The piece is hand-carved from Vietnam White Marble by the independent master sculptors we work with in Jaipur. It is a bright, clean, cool white stone — whiter and cooler than warm Makrana — finished to a soft satin polish that glows rather than glares, so the surface reads calm under daylight or a diya's glow. The fine crystalline grain lets light sink a little way into the stone, giving the skin of the elephant-headed lord a lifelike, luminous softness. The iconography is complete and canonical. Four arms carry the parashu (axe) and a modak in the upper hands while the lower two fold in meditation; the trunk curls to the left over a rounded belly draped with layered malas and a broad beaded haar. Ears, crown, and armlets are worked in fine relief, and Ganesh's vahana — the little mushak — sits attentively at the front edge of the lotus, looking up. At 18 inches, it is sized for a home temple shelf, a meditation corner, or a quiet niche where you want a presiding, unhurried presence rather than a large centrepiece. The lotus base gives it a stable, self-contained footprint that needs no separate stand.
