This Ganesh is carved from a single block of Vietnam white marble, a bright, cool-neutral stone prized for the sharp detail it holds. The Lord of Beginnings sits in easy repose on a fully bloomed lotus, his front right hand lifted in the abhaya mudra — the gesture of fearlessness and blessing that welcomes every devotee who bows before him.

Every element is shaped by hand. The crown, the layered mala across his chest, the folds of the dhoti, and the small mushak (mouse) at his feet are worked with the chisel rather than a mould, so no two pieces are ever identical. The finish is kept matte, letting the fine crystalline grain of the marble read as stone rather than glass, with soft highlights that flatter the carving under the glow of a diya.

Da Nang stone, and where a 24-inch Ganesh sits

Vietnam white marble comes from the Da Nang region, where sculptors have exported statuary for generations. It is brighter and cooler than Indian Makrana and far more affordable than Italian marble, which makes it a favourite for home shrines that want a clean, modern white without the premium price.

At 24 inches, this Ganesh is sized for a dedicated pooja room, a living-room centrepiece, or the entrance of a small temple. Facing a doorway he is believed to clear obstacles from the path of the household; on the altar he presides over every new venture, prayer, and celebration.
